This little prayer (known to monks, worldwide) is attributed by many to St. Francis, and is notable in that it doesn’t “ask for something;” instead it simply asks that we be allowed to channel peace to the people around us.
I’ve always thought it was a pretty robust expression of that little bit in the Lord’s Prayer that says, “Thy will be done.”
Which means we get out of the way & let it flow…and I love the job Sarah McLachlan does with her musical version of it, below.
Let it wash over you….
Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Couple nights ago, I was flying home when I saw the lights on at your house, and the dog on the porch. You waved from the window & smiled, and I waved back, and then went the rest of the way home.
Nope, I wasn’t in an airplane, on the way home from a trip, buzzing your house.
I was in a dream. I remembered its details when I woke up. When I was in the dream, I felt that I had control of what I was doing in response to the things that were coming up, and did the things I thought were the best response to what was going on (this is what I do in my non-dream, waking state, which includes making mistakes, too!)
This is an approach to what some folks call lucid dreaming. With practice, people can recall bigger & bigger chunks of their night time adventures, and begin to find connections with what’s going on there.
Now, if you’re really interested in this, I have three articles that will both introduce you to lucid dreaming and give you some ideas that, when you practice them, will help make you better & better at it.
Maybe this is a good way to approach all this – here’s a TED talk with Tim Post about lucid dreaming.
In 2013 Tim gave a talk at TEDx in the Netherlands on the emerging science of lucid dreaming and its potential power to enhance psychological development and overall wellbeing.
Having had numerous lucid dreams as a child, it wasn’t until he was 17 years old that Post discovered there was a special name for what he was doing. Since then he has researched, practiced and taught lucid dreaming, recording more than a thousand lucid dream entries in his journals. A graduate of educational psychology, he founded Lucidipedia and SnoozOn, online projects which support the scientific study and practice of lucid dreaming.
While I’m guessing that most of you have heard of American intuitive Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), who had a lasting impact on the general acceptance of medical cures and other metaphysical phenomenon during his life, it’s handy to have a short primer on his life & legacy. I found this short rundown, which explains what he did and the research that followed, both to help people who were sick and to attempt to understand the spiritual lessons involved with his readings. Take a peek and see what you think.
The ARE (Association for Research & Enlightenment) continues to this day (check them out here: http://edgarcayce.org/), which catalogs his readings and makes them available to students, researchers, and everyone else. See what you find….
You already know I’m in the process of studying & learning more about how things work with things of the spirit, and it was amazing share in an evening of gifted medium Diana Lynn (http://www.diana-lynn.com/) last spring.
She describes what a reading is like:
For me, the communication process of psychic mediumship is a bridge between two worlds that allow us to connect with our loved ones who have crossed over, helping to bring us closure, resolve unsaid issues and allows us to heal.
In your reading I will be connecting to those who have passed and those that are able to come through in your session. Remember, the messages that come through are usually what we need to hear. They may not be what you have come to hear, but there is always a reason for the messages that come through.
I had had a reading with Diana at the Intuitive Fair back in March, and during the session we were able to connect with a couple of my relatives, which was timely – I had some questions that needed dealing with, with them! Part of the experience is the way (for me) she puts people at ease about this most natural of things. When she talks about healing folks, I think that’s a key part.
She had a little video made that I think is a good introduction to what it’s all like – check it out & see what you think.
And, as always, thank you for accompanying me on my path of exploration & discovery.
It’s always fun to find out new things & meet new people, and it was amazing to run into Alexa Linton at the Intuitive Fair in October in Victoria, BC.
Inspired by her horse Diva and a process called BodyTalk, Alexa offers services to help heal mind, body & spirit. I had a session with her three weeks ago, and I’m happy to tell you there was definitely a shift in my approach to the work ahead of me, as well as some of the energy blocking it.
She’s not kidding that she helps you find your spark, which I think you’ll discover when you book a session with her.
Check out this modern day cowgirl – here’s more about BodyTalk, more about Alexa’s services, and more about her. And…she offers a completely free 15 minute strategy session – its a chance to meet Alexa, put a voice to the name, learn more and find out if you & she are a good fit for each other.
And here’s a well-produced segment from Shaw TV that will serve as a good introduction to what she has going on!
I have long thought that one of the great days of a kind of spiritual liberation for me was when, as a young teacher, I told a classroom of kids, “I don’t know.” It was great to discover I didn’t have to know, and didn’t have to try & find out everything…and in this, I became more of a student, and in the way it works, more of a teacher.
Here’s a holiday essay by Megan Edge about this – let me know what you think!
Recently I have been in the energy of “I Don’t Know.” It’s a very interesting energy – at the same time both scary and liberating. Not Knowing has me feeling a bit like a boat without a rudder, as though I’m floating along without a firm plan.
The good thing about being in the Energy of Not Knowing is the ability to go with the flow. When there is no firm plan, I find it much easier to adjust to whatever comes my way, with no hooks into how something should be, in my own expectation of it.
Many of the people who come to see me are in this energy; they don’t Know something and so they come to me for clarity, solutions and answers. It might be “I don’t know what to do with my life.” Or “I don’t know how she feels about me.” Or “I don’t know if I should make that move or take that job offer.”
More often then not I will suggest they reframe their question into “I’d like to know what to do with my life.” Or “I’d like to know if she likes me or I should move or take that job.” By changing the way in which they ask the question they instantly change the way the information can come to them. By saying “I’d like to Know” they are letting the Universe know they are ready to hear the answers and to take guided action on those answers.
However, we aren’t always ready to hear the answers or do what is required of us to make those solutions become reality. So we sit in the energy of “I don’t know.”
What I am realizing, beyond the need to not judge ourselves harshly for Not Knowing something, is that “I don’t know” can be a very powerful place to be. There can be liberation in truthfully stating that we do not have all the answers and solutions just yet.
Sometimes being in the Not Knowing opens up space around us for many more possibilities to show up in our life then we would have seen in our conviction of Knowing.
What if you could get excited about Not Knowing – instead of feeling anxious or dumb or uncertain? What if there could be space in the Not Knowing to simply allow yourself to shrug your shoulders and say, “In this moment, I don’t know what is going to happen next! I don’t know if she likes me, I don’t know what I should do with my life and I don’t know if I should move or take that job.”
This acknowledgement could open up a world of possibilities and ways of thinking that have never occurred to you before this moment.
The need to Know reflects a need to be in control, which in and of itself is an Illusion – being in Control is not possible; being Responsible and Accountable is possible, but not being in Control. You release the Illusion of being in Control when you say “I don’t know” and allow this to be a good thing.
The need to Know also reflects a desire to orchestrate the Future. The Future is a nebulous place, hard to pin down in any moment and always in motion and flux.
We can certainly be Responsible and Accountable for the plans we make for the Future and we can affect our experience of the Future through our intention but we cannot control the Future. There are far to many variables. The point is to flow into and out of and around our experiences – not to control them.
This Holiday Season I encourage you to Not Know a few things, such as how someone else is going to behave or how Christmas dinner is going to turn out, or what gift you might receive. Allow your life to reveal itself to you as the best gift you can give to yourself and enjoy the possibilities that are presented.
I don’t Know what will happen when you do this but I think it could be good!
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for 2015!
Love, Megan
On her website, Megan says: “I have always had an interest in the Metaphysical. As a child I constantly questioned the world around me, seeking answers that made sense to me. I considered my ‘Big Book of Fairy Tales’ to be my first textbook on the subject of the Metaphysical and Supernatural.
“As a child I would pore over the detailed and intricate pictures, always delighting in finding the hidden fairies and other woodland folks within its pages. This early fascination provided me with a sense of there being something more in the world around me.”
When Geoff Thompson made a presentation to the Victoria Metaphysical and Intuitive Development Group (here’s their Meetup page & here’s their Facebook page) back in April, he discussed how things work with him & his connection to the Archangel Collective, then had a session where he channeled them and they answered questions from the overflow crowd (our biggest of the year).
The answers were grounded, easy to understand, and easy to apply. The two comments I heard the most afterwards: Wow, that was really useful!..and…When is he coming back?
Well – this week! (October 10th at 7pm @ the Fernwood Community Centre in Victoria).
Here’s what the Meetup co-hosts Dawn & Sarah tell me:
Join Geoff Thompson (channel for the Archangel Collective) for an open discussion about the changing times we are in and the importance of being brave. Geoff will be channeling the being known as Tobel, member of the Ascended Council of Angels and keeper of the language of light. Sharing insights from both the perspective of the Archangels and that of his many physical incarnations Tobel will discuss what it is like to move through these changing times and why they are so important for us.
There will be a live question and answer period where individuals will be able to pose their questions to Tobel and the Archangel Collective and special details on Discovering Ascension services for those in attendance.
+++++++++++
See you there! Here is Goeff’s website (Discovering Ascension), and here’s a bit about Goeff:
Geoff has been extrasensory his whole life, his ability to feel the emotions of others was almost overwhelming at certain times of his life. It took many years for him to learn how to best channel this ability, but when he did, a brand new world opened up to him. It was with the help of many spiritual teachers that he was finally able to connect with what is known as the Archangel Collective.
The Archangel Collective is a group of benevolent entities whose only wish is to help human beings achieve the highest levels of joy and happiness. They express themselves through unconditional love and complete acceptance of who you are in this moment. While many people are aware of who the Archangels are, either by way of religious teachings or spiritual connection, most are not aware that they try communicating with us constantly. You may be guided by them at any moment and not even know it! They hear your pleas and prayers and try desperately to reach you. The challenge can come in the form of misunderstanding them or identifying too strongly with the Ego.
As an extension of their work, Geoff channels their messages to you directly, so that they can better help you with any situation you may be dealing with. They do not judge, they do not have personal motives. They simply want to be apart of your life in whatever manner you choose. Let Geoff help you connect with your guardian angels and Archangels and experience the overwhelming love that is their presence.
What one thinks continually, they become; what one cherishes in their heart and mind they make a part of the pulsation of their heart, through their own blood cells, and build in their own physical, that which its spirit and soul must feed upon, and that with which it will be possessed, when it passes into the realm for which the other experiences of what it has gained here in the physical plane, must be used.
From the readings of the Akashic Records of Edgar Cayce
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. ~ Albert Einstein
Lots of folks are working on being more sensitive, more aware, more empathic…and after a while, it works. Now comes a new thing – how do you handle picking up energy all around you?
Suddenly, it feels like everyone you pass on the street has left their psychic (and more, sometimes) energy with you. What can you do?
To check on this, we checked in with intuitive Micara Link for her suggestions:
Do you FEEL everything? Welcome to the club of Empaths! You are not alone.
Recently, I received an email from a lady who shared her concern for her sensitivities and how they can totally consume her. She tends to feel the energy and emotions of those around her and isn’t sure how to manage these sensitivities.
I can totally relate and I know many of you can, too, so I thought I’d share our conversation with you in hopes that it helps you navigate and cope with your own empathic sensitivities.
Hi Micara,
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had this thing where when I look at people (strangers for the most part) I feel like I’m taking all the sadness that they have ever experienced in life and I feel it as though I’m going through the same thing. I’ve also noticed that I’m SUPER sensitive when it comes to sad news stories, sad movies etc…like the one about the lady in Utah that killed all of the 8 babies that she gave birth to that has been in the news that past couple of days. It seems to be getting worse and every time i hear something sad, I internalize it and it takes away from my concentration and I get this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I hope this all makes sense because I’m kinda babbling.
Anyways, I’m wondering if you have any insight on it. It has really been bothering me over the past year and I’m just not sure what to do with it. I look forward to hearing back and thanks in advance!
My reply:
I can definitely relate and understand what you are going through. Your experiences are showing you how empathic you are. Empathic sensitivities can be difficult to handle at times, because they can be so intense and consuming. We have our own emotions to feel! So add on other people’s and it’s totally overwhelming.
Empathic sensitivities and clairsentience (clear-feeling) are intuitive abilities that allow you to pick up on and experience the energy of emotions and feelings in the people around you, places, and situations. In short: You’re a feeler or psychic sponge.
One of the things that many people don’t realize is that those who are highly empathic are usually very gifted healers. Your empathy gifts you the ability to truly feel and experience what the other person is going through so that you know best how to help them.
Although being empathic is a gift, I know it doesn’t always feel like that. Here are a few suggestions to help cope with your sensitivities:
1) When you notice yourself start to feel another person’s emotions, let them go. This all starts with awareness. When you become aware that you’re tuning into someone’s energy, pull back and remind yourself to let go of their energy.
(note: We don’t always know when we are feeling someone else’s energy, in this case, whenever you are feeling a strong emotion or energy and you are not sure where it’s coming from, practice letting it go. Even if it is yours, you don’t need to hold on to it.)
2) Imagine a protective bubble of energy around you throughout the day. Some people like to visualize a color that they love (like blue) or an image of a shield around their energy field. This thought and intention allows you to protect your own energy so you don’t pick up as much of the energy around you
3) Ask your Angels and Spirit Guides to clear and cleanse your body, mind, and spirit. Do this throughout the day, especially before bed and on your way home from work.
4) Don’t subject yourself to the news (or any other negative energy). The news is like a constant horror story! So much of that stuff we don’t even need to know. Did we ALL need to know about that lady in Utah killing her babies?! No, it is not helpful to anyone to know that stuff. I personally have quit watching the news because it is just too much for me to handle every day. It’s toxic. As sensitives, we need to keep our distance from that stuff.
Awareness is always the first and most helpful step. With the awareness you have about your sensitivities, you will find ways to help yourself move through it. Try some of the techniques above to see if they help. I know it can be hard! Stay aware and remember that you’re in control of your own energy.
Blessings ~ Micara

You can get to know intuitive & mother & writer & teacher Micara Link & her work at her website at www.micaralink.com. Based in Kansas City in the States, Micara offers her services there and online.
Those of you who have been following me know I’ve explored a number of ways the world works (and sometimes doesn’t work, the way we expect), and know that I’ve had past life regression sessions off & on since 1984.
So, it was exciting to run into Jane Jackson (here’s her website). Besides offering reiki (she worked with me to loosen up a hand/muscle problem…it was good!) and a host of other services, she also conducts sessions so that folks can review events in lives past. So I called her up. I hope you get a chance to do this, sometime.
This session was especially helpful for me, as it showed a group of folks I was with 150 years ago that includes family members and friends now. This has thrown a new (and positive) light on my connections with them then, and gives me ideas for connections this time around, including laughing about “you’re still doing THAT?” with a person who may have been a soul-mate (not in the usual present-day romantic sense, but in the traveling companion sense.)
The biggest difference between this and other sessions I’ve had was the depth of prior experience, and how I could feel it & know it. I’ll be interested to hear your experiences, too…in this session, when I would see or be around a person (from back then), I knew the whole backstory.
What I mean by that is I didn’t just feel, “Oh, that’s Bob,” but more, like looking at pictures in your school yearbook. So I would see and recognize Bob, but have all those memories and feelings and experiences with Bob, as well (which is why we keep those yearbooks, right?) The result was a deeper experience in the session, as I could feel why I was sad or glad to see someone, and what the story was, behind those feelings. It was pretty amazing, and I’m pretty sure the way Jane conducts the session contributes to that.
Jane’s work focuses on personal growth (which often means addressing old pains) and personal renewal and energy release, which comes from sorting out what’s plugging things up. Take a peek at what she offers and give her a call – I’m pretty sure you’ll be glad you did!

You can find out more about Jane Jackson on her website at Lightwork Energy, and can contact her for a free pre-consultation through the site. Besides past life regressions, she offers core cellular transformation, distance healing sessions, reiki sessions, workshops and energy circles, and group work.
As most of you know, I have had sessions & readings with intuitives all over the country as well as in the US, and one of the folks I enjoy the most is visiting with Lisa Fox. I’ve found her to not only be accurate, but also decidedly helpful as I continue to fill in the gaps on the map of my spiritual path.
At another time, I’ll tell you more about sessions we’ve shared, especially with her serving as a medium, but for now, I thought you’d enjoy this posting from Lisa’s blog, last month…tell me what you think, and what you feel:
Take My Hand, by Lisa K. Fox
3/19/14
I was on my side napping in the summertime sunlight of my bedroom, one arm stretched out the other tucked, my brain and body in that glorious space of still-dreaming-so-I-refuse-to-wake-up-place.
Then it happened-I felt something holding my hand, and I, of course, dream defaulted to it’s not real, so just go with it, no big deal.
Somehow in my sleepy stupor I was able to decide that I would squeeze this invisible hand and see if it would squeeze back. It did, softly but very firmly.
I was awake. Startled, afraid and unbelieving of what had just happened. Did I dream it? No…I FELT it! Did I once again experience something strange, new and unexplainable as I always do as a medium? Was it a spirit or was it… Dear God…what was it?
I have NEVER in all my years with my many gifts experienced anything quite like THIS. This begged further study and analogy when awake and coherent. THIS I wasn’t sure I could or would ever share with ANYONE. You are the first to hear it and it’s time to share as I had a funny feeling I would someday for a good reason that would reveal itself to me and today is that day.
I think one of the main questions that I get most as a medium is “Are they really around me?” or “Do they see and know what’s going on with me and the family?” Do they really leave signs, symbols, blatant in your face yes-I’m-still-here -just-in-a-different dimension-thank you. Yes, they most certainly do. I’m living proof of that.
I’m a medium and I thought I had pretty much experienced all of the weird phenomena, spirit activity, etc. that was out there. I’ve been poked, and had spirits in my face and all around me to the point of feeling smothered and overwhelmed-especially as a beginner in training. I’ve experienced some amazing stuff, some scary, but mostly just amazing.
Yet here it was… a hand squeeze-something so simple, so direct and so loving. Something so out of the ‘ordinary’ (as if if you could call any of my paranormal experiences that) from anything else I had known Spirit to share with me. It was like…”Hey…I got you…I love you and I’m RIGHT HERE…always.“.
I had no idea who it was that was sitting on that ottoman next to my bed squeezing my hand, but I felt LOVED. I felt like I was not alone, nor would I ever be. Me…the medium who brings this exact message through for others time and again, was experiencing it first hand…paranormal pun intended!
Wow…I couldn’t speak, I could hardly think after it happened.
My mind did mental gymnastics all day trying to analyze, compartmentalize and make sense of what had just happened to me.
I knew it was a spirit, check. Was it a relative?…not sure…no check. Was it an angel?…no, angels are HUGE and I know their energy ‘signature’…no check. I felt that it was someone definitely sitting on the ottoman looking at me…probably staring as some spirits like to do and just I guess…yes…. watching over me as I slept. Wow.
I’m the one who tells my clients their loved ones are always near, always watching over them, and now…wow. I had a profound experience that seriously upped the anty for me in my own spiritually wacky and wonderful world! I have had white feathers from my mom, had clocks fly off the walls from a rambunctious 14 year old boy who died just up the street, and had so many amazing signs and proof that there is so much more to life in the afterLIFE… but this…whoa!
I FELT the love, the tenderness and adoration from the spirit watching over me. I asked who it was but never did get a clear answer, perhaps I wasn’t supposed to, perhaps I was to just TRUST, BELIEVE and RESPECT in what I was given. It was A GIFT… proof that YES, they are really there, are ALWAYS around us, and always take interest in us as they did in life and yes, they indeed do know what is going on in our lives. I know because they tell me when I read for my clients, and they are always amazed and shocked that I know such details of their lives.
I have seen spirits hang out at my son’s basketball games, watching their grandkids play ball from the bleachers. I see them alongside their loved ones in stores, restaurants, hospitals…you name it.
They are THERE.
Fascinating…Even as I write this blog I can still feel that dreamy half-sleep as I think and reminisce.
I’m so glad that Spirit and the Universe conspired to remind me about this experience, and inspired me to write about it finally for you.
You may think as a medium it’s relatively easy for me to say “Yes..your loved ones are always near and always around you”. No, I’ve experienced it…I mean REALLY experienced many things that prove it to me, and I’m a pretty good skeptic of these things even in my field which is WAY out in left field for most people! I want proof- especially because of who I am and the gifts I have.
So…it’s never happened again, nor do I believe it ever will.
I think it was a one time deal, and I’m glad for that because I’m not so sure I could handle it happening again, but then again, all I have to do is remember to say Thank you…I love you, and Hey…I’ll see you again someday…soon. Don’t be afraid to ASK, RECEIVE and of course…BELIEVE! They are always listening, always loving, and always….always THERE.
(Here’s the original post. Thanks for sharing, Lisa!)
Your spirit is the artist. Your thoughts are the paintbrush. The Universe is your canvas…With your love, paint away. ~ Brad Johnson
A couple of weeks ago, the featured presenter at the Victoria Metaphysical and Intuitive Development Group was Brad Johnson, from Vancouver. Brad channels Adronis, an entity from Siruis A’s star system, and the Victoria presentation included a visit from Adronis.
The evening was an energetic exploration of different aspects of spiritual growth, first with a discussion/lecture by Brad, followed by Adronis (channeled via Brad) answering questions from the 80+ people in attendance.
For one, I enjoyed the evening – Brad is a captivating speaker who gives not only detail but also his apparent passion for sharing both his experience and its place in healing people. In the video below, shot that evening, you can hear his overview for the first 28 minutes or so, followed by his channeling session (he is seated for that part of the evening.)
This filming gives you a pretty fair rendering of what happened & was shared that night – check it out!
Brad offers a wide range of classes & services – you can find out more about him & what he does (and his background!) at his Conscious Matrix website.
On his site, it says:
“Brad has mentioned on many occasions that there is really nothing special about what he does. It is an ability that everyone has access to. Whether one wishes to become a channeler or a conscious matrix communicator, it’s all within our grasp.
“All it requires is the commitment to live all elements of what such a lifestyle represents. We are all gifted in our own ways and will express our gifts in the themes that best suit us. Brad’s job has always been to awaken, inspire and expand, and this is what he aims for with dedication through every person he interacts with.”
Once a month, the Victoria Metaphysical and Intuitive Development Group meets over at the Fernwood Community Center (here’s their Facebook page, and you can find them in the postings for MeetUp groups in Victoria, BC). Co-facilitators Dawn & Sarah continue to find interesting & engaging presenters each month, and I’m sure glad they do what they do.
Baba Ram Dass keeps weaving in & out of my life, ever since I found Be Here Now when I was at university, at a lecture/teaching in Eugene, Oregon in the years just before his stroke, and lately, as I’ve been around folks who are facing death & dying. His approach offers a place to build what’s needed to face the end which we all can count on.
My view has evolved to seeing death — the moment of death — as a ceremony. If people are sitting with you to help as you are going through this dying ceremony, help them to see you as the soul you truly are, not as your ego. If they identify you as your ego, during the last part of this ceremony they will cling to you and pull you back instead of facilitating your transformation.
Sadhana, either a specific practice or your overall spiritual transformation, begins with you as an ego and evolves into your being a soul, who you really are. The ego is identified with the incarnation, which stops at the moment of death.
The soul, on the other hand, has experienced many deaths. If you’ve done your sadhana fully, there will be no fear of death, and dying is just another moment.
If you are to die consciously, there’s no time like the present to prepare. Here is a brief checklist of some of the ways to approach your own death:
• Live your life consciously and fully. Learn to identify with and be present in your soul, not your ego.
• Fill your heart with love. Turn your mind toward God, guru, Truth.
• Continue with all of your spiritual practices: meditation, mantra, kirtan, all forms of devotion.
• Be there for the death of your parents, loved ones, or beloved animals. Know that the presence of your loved ones will remain when you are quiet and bring them into your consciousness.
• Read about the deaths of great saints, lamas, and yogis like Ramana Maharshi.
• If there is pain at the time of death, try to remain as conscious as possible. Medication for pain offers some solace but dulls your awareness.
• To be peaceful at the time of your death, seek peace inside today.
Death is another moment. If you’re not peaceful today, you probably won’t be peaceful tomorrow. Sudden death is, in many ways, more difficult to work with spiritually than a gradual passing.
If we are aware that death can happen at any moment, we start to work on ourselves more constantly, paying attention to the moment-to-moment content of our minds. If you practice being here now, being fully in the moment during your life, if you are living in that space, then the moment of death is just another moment.
– Ram Dass, excerpt from Polishing the Mirror: How to Live from your Spiritual Heart.
One of the intuitives I’d like you to meet is Micara Link, who had two big shifts in her life last year, as she moved with her husband from South Dakota to outside of Kansas City, AND welcomed their first child. She’s worked with Denise Linn, and over the past five years has really gotten her practice going, with her guidance to the treasures of intuition, as well as teaching & practicing reiki.
You can read more about Micara & what she offers at her website.
In today’s posting, here are her thoughts about strengthening your intuition, and your connection to it:
When I teach people how to reconnect to and strengthen their intuition, one of the biggest blocks that comes up is Lack of Trust.
“How do I know if my intuition is right?
How do I know it’s ok to trust it?
What if I’m wrong?”, they say.
My answer? Your intuition is always correct and it is always safe to trust it.
Why? Because your intuition is the loving voice within that is connected to God.
How do you learn to trust? There’s no short-cut, no secret, no way to teach you to trust – you just have to do it. You have to make the decision & commitment to live from within. Over time you will learn that your intuition is worthy of your trust, but first you have to be willing to take a risk, let go, and surrender to your inner guide.
One of the reasons I love teaching Intuition Development is because it’s during these classes that we create a sacred space to practice your intuition. The more you practice, the more you begin to trust. When you’re put into a room full of strangers, and you’re ‘reading’ them accurately, your doubt-filled mind starts to hush up. Instead, you awaken to the truth of your intuition. You begin to ‘hear’ the difference between your ego-mind, and your love-based intuitive mind.
It can be quite the head trip at times, I totally understand.
I remember when I first communicated with someone’s loved one on the other side… I didn’t even believe in Heaven at the time! It was like my neurons were backfiring, all the circuits made where crashing… how could this be possible?
But it was, and over time, I began to see how powerful, beautiful, magical, and empowering (oh, I could go on and on…;) life is when I live from the guidance of my most sacred advisor: my intuition.
Embracing my inner guide and committing to live from this place within has completely changed my life in the most amazing ways, which is why I am passionate about helping you do the same.
So what exactly IS your intuition and how does it work?
Your intuition is communication from your most holy self, your soul. Your soul is a spark of light extended from The Universe. The Universe is a life-sustaining, supportive, loving force that works within you and for you.
Your intuition comes to you in the form of feelings, hunches, visions, repetitive thoughts, and sometimes a very strong inner knowing.
Your intuition is never fear-based. It always comes from a place of love and peace.
Your intuition is powerful! Listening to the guidance you receive can change your life, especially if you’ve been ignoring it. The fear many people have in listening to this voice is because they know it will change their life – no more living in denial – living from your intuition is living a life of truth and purpose. Our egos tend to have a heavy grip on our wings of trust, holding us back from really stepping into our light.
Your intuition often communicates in whispers. It’s like a feeling or voice beneath all the busyness and chaos. Describing it this way might make it seem like it’s hard to ‘hear’ your intuition, but it’s not. It’s right there. Paying attention will help you recognize it. Also, the more you listen to this whisper, the louder it will get. Over time it won’t seem be so quiet anymore.
Your intuition doesn’t always make sense. This is one of the hardest parts in trusting it because our minds really want things to make sense in a linear, logical, and practical way. Guidance from our intuition can sometimes seem ‘crazy’ with no basis to the information we are getting. This is where the magic really happens! This is the time when we get the opportunity to first-handedly experience the motto, “Jump and the net will appear.” Listen to your inner voice even if it doesn’t make sense. It will. Give it time.
Your intuition is connected to the energy of pure potential and creative life-force which is another way of describing the energy of Source or God. I mention this again, because I want to remind you how miraculous your intuition really is. There are many times you might be looking ahead on your path thinking, “I can’t do this! I have no idea what to do or where to go. Everything seems impossible!”
And then by the power of a tiny whisper from within, everything seems to fall into place better than you could even imagine. This is how your intuition can make the seemingly impossible, possible. Every bump in the road can be maneuvered through your inner guidance. It’s always there to steer you where you’re meant to go.
You who are reading this – yes YOU! – You are SO intuitive! You wouldn’t be reading this right now if you weren’t. I hope this helps you ditch any doubt you have in trusting your inner guide.
Please feel free to send me any questions you have regarding intuition and I will do my best to answer them. (Click here to send me a message!)
It is my passion to help you clear the fear and step into your light through the power of your Intuition! Whoopee! I feel like yelling that from the rooftop!
Just for today, trust your intuition no matter what. See what happens. I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Thank you!

Here’s a vid with Micara discussing releasing fear:
A Course in Miracles teaches that fear is false and Love is the true reality. In today’s meditation (below), you are guided to release your fears, replace them with love, and restore your right-mind. Use this meditation whenever you need to get back on track — free from fear, worry, stress, and anxiety.
Tonight I’m going to a meeting of folks in Tennessee (wandering monks usually pass this way) who are discussing & sorting out the practice of centering prayer. I’ll let you know how it goes!
